Tot was one of the Sorceress Thaegan's thirteen monstrous children.[1]

History

Tot was born som time after Thaegan's return to Deltora. Its father, if there was one, is unknown. It and its twelve siblings roamed Deltora's northeast, terrorising the countryside.[1]

The Deltora Book of Monsters

Tot and its siblings captured a group of travellers and ate all but one before falling asleep. The man was able to escape, though he had no memory of anything before the incident. Josef met this man, who gave him information on Thaegan's children for his book.[1]

The Lake of Tears

Tot was mentioned in the golden-eyed giant's riddle to Lief.[2]

City of the Rats

Tot, Hot, and their nine surviving siblings—FieFlyZan, ZodPikSnikLunLod, and Ichabod—joined forces to seek vengeance on Lief, Barda, and Jasmine for the deaths of their mother and siblings. Disguised as wolves, they pursued the companions on their way out of Ralad territory and forced them into a net trap. However, the siblings began fighting over how the food would be divided. Hot and Tot, being the smallest of the siblings, demanded equal shares for all. Lief used this to convince the siblings that only nine of them could eat, since you cannot divide three by eleven evenly. Hot and Tot continued to demands equal shares, so Ichabod smashed their skulls together, killing them instantly.[3]

Anime

In the anime, Tot, along with its siblings, survived their battle. When Thaegan returned the first time, she recruited Hot, Tot, Fie, and Fly to help her obtain revenge. They disguised themselves as a girl named Francoise, and led the companions to Thaegan. Along the way, Hot and Tot attempted to eat them, but Fie and Fly stopped them.

At the house, all four siblings went on a black bird hunt for their mother. Lief, Barda, and Jasmine released the birds when they escaped from Thaegan's mansion, and the monsters corner them with their mother. Lief used the power of the Lapis Lazuli to weaken Thaegan, which caused one of her spells to misfire and kill Tot and his siblings.

He returned as a Will-o-the Wisp and remained with his siblings when their mother returned for the second time. When their mother committed suicide, he followed after her with the rest of his siblings (minus Ichabod).

Physical appearance

Tot was a small, impish yellow monster, similar to its twin Hot.[1]

In the anime, it had blue hair.

Abilities

Tot had shapeshifting powers like its other siblings. It could turn into a wolf (book), or a handbag (anime).[3]

Trivia

Tot is one of Thaegan's several children whose gender is unknown.
