Hot was born some time after Thaegan's return to Deltora. Its father, if there was one, is unknown. It and its twelve siblings roamed Deltora's northeast, terrorising the countryside.[1]
The Deltora Book of Monsters[]
Hot and its siblings captured a group of travellers and ate all but one before falling asleep. The man was able to escape, though he had no memory of anything before the incident. Josef met this man, who gave him information on Thaegan's children for his book.[1]
Hot, Tot, and their nine surviving siblings— Fie, Fly, Zan, Zod, Pik, Snik, Lun, Lod, and Ichabod— joined forces to seek vengeance on Lief, Barda, and Jasmine for the deaths of their mother and siblings. Disguised as wolves, they pursued the companions and forced them into a net trap. However, the siblings began fighting over how the food would be divided. Hot and Tot, the smallest of the siblings, demanded equal shares for all. Ichabod smashed their skulls together, starting a brawl which resulted in the deaths of all the siblings except Ichabod.[3]

Hot was a small impish yellow monster, similar to its twin Tot.[1]
Abilities[]
Hot possessed strong magical powers, which, among others, gave him the ability to shapeshift, allowing him to turn into a massive wolf.[3]

Thaegan returned the first time, she recruited Hot, Tot, Fie, and Fly, to help her get revenge. They disguised themselves as a girl named Francoise, and led the companions to Thaegan. Along the way, Hot and Tot tried to eat them, but Fie and Fly kept them under control.
At the house, Hot and his siblings went on a black bird hunt for their mother. Lief, Barda, and Jasmine ended up releasing the captured birds, but the monsters cornered them with their mother. However, the power of the Lapis Lazuli weakened Thaegan, causing her spell to misfire and kill all four of her children.
He returned as a Will-o-the Wisp and remains with his siblings when their mother returned for the second time. When their mother committed suicide, he followed after her with the rest of his siblings (minus Ichabod).
In the anime, Hot had green hair.
