Honey is a palace horse used by King Lief.[1]

History[]

Dragon's Nest[]

Honey was one of the fifteen horses brought on King Lief's quest to destroy the Four Sisters. Lief rode her until his company reached the Forests of Silence, where he, Barda, and Jasmine split off from their guards to deter an assassin that had been following them.[1]

Honey was taken to the town of Ringle and survived Rolf's slaughtering of the guards along with two other horses, Bella and Swift. They eventually found their way into the ownership of Laughing Jack, who used magic to transform the three of them into large black horses identical to his current horse, the former keeper of the Bone Point Lighthouse, Red Han.[1]

Shadowgate[]

Honey was forced to pull Laughing Jack's wagon to the Funnel after he acquired Zerry and the Belt of Deltora for disposal. During the trip, Jack taunted the thirsty horses with a bucket of water.[2]

Lief, Barda, Jasmine, and Steven pursued Jack to retrieve the belt, and while Steven distracted him, Jasmine attempted to free the horses, recognising them through the magic. However, Jack caught onto them and escaped before she could.[2]

The Isle of the Dead[]

Honey pulled Laughing Jack's wagon to Ava's shop, and was stored away while he impersonated his sister to try and kill the companions. When Jack was tricked by Jasmine into taking a coin from his ship, The Lady Luck, his spell over Honey, Bella, Swift, and Red Han was broken, restoring them to their true forms.[3]

The Sister of the South[]

Lief, Barda, and Jasmine rode Honey, Bella, and Swift to Del to search for the Sister of the South. Later, at Lief and Jasmine's wedding, Zerry ensured that the horses could witness the event.[4]

Physical appearance[]

Honey has a golden coat and long white mane and tail.[1]
