Shadowgate[]
While travelling with the Masked Ones, Lief, Barda and Jasmine arrive at Happy Vale on their way to Shadowgate. However, the town had been abandoned for some time by the time they passed through. The town's noticeboard contained a series of seemingly unremarkable notes that Lief and Jasmine later discovered contained a message from Laughing Jack to Fern.[1]
Design[]
The vacant town is quiet, and the windows of the buildings are covered with dust. The town has a big clockwork, which still runs, and a square containing a dry water fountain. Once, Happy Vale had running taverns, inns, and stores, but all businesses and buildings were deserted when the town was abandoned.[1]
