Years before Adin united the warring tribes of Deltora, Gudden and his brothers, Greddock and Gorl, went to the Forests of Silence to search for the fabled Lilies of Life. They eventually found the flowers, but Gorl killed both his brothers so that he could drink all of the nectar for himself.
The Forests of Silence
Barda brought up the memory of Greddock and Gudden when he and Lief battled with Gorl for the great Topaz. Remembering his brothers caused Gorl to temporarily lose focus and become lost in his thoughts.
